On Friday 28th of March at 22:00 in Heraklion<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The residenceSEA will present FUNCTION FOLLOWS ::PER::FORM::ER:: a work of Emanuel Andel new media artist from Vienna and Sara de Santis italian dancer and choreographer.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

They are collaborating together since 2013 between Italy, Austria and Holland and now they meet at SEA for two intense weeks of research to exploit space and time choreography.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The interior architecture of the residenceSEA is directly connected to the motion of the performer and the music via a 3d tracking system. The environment as well as the motion of the dancer is captured and used to build the projections that turns the same structure into one big dispositive.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This open a dialogue between the mechanism and the human, the dependencies change up to a point where the performer not only controls the rhythm of the music but transforms from an object that has been shaped, to a designer in charge.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Soon, the new world starts to generate it\u2019s own behaviors based on the inconsistencies of the performer – limiting the freedom of the dancer and pushing it into a new form of rhythm, which is – in time – less and less influenced by its maker.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
