VAGA body & multimedia<\/a>\u00a0experimental<\/a>\u00a0is a\u00a0<\/span>collaboration of a transdisciplinary\u00a0artist Kuo Ying Hsiu, from Taiwan, and a choreographer Yang Liu, from China. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At ResidenceSEA VAGA<\/a> will work on the theme\u00a0“Embodying Places”.<\/em>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0This project is a nomadic platform of artistic research exploring the possibilities of body as a tool to analyse local realities and social spheres.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

During this 3 weeks in Crete VAGA will be focusing on the following questions:\u00a0<\/span>How to define “Environmental Impromptu Dance”?\u00a0<\/span>What is the possibility of the impromptu dance in the field, and interaction with local people?\u00a0<\/span>What is the relationship between body and field, and what is the influence in the place?\u00a0<\/span>What kind of social experiments can be done with “Environmental Impromptu Dance”?\u00a0<\/span>How can videos capture the body and social interaction in the place?\u00a0Does the \u201cplace in the moment\u201d really exist ? What kind of place can a theater represent? What is the meaning of \u201cpresent\u201d and \u201crepresent\u201d to the place and to the artist? <\/span><\/p>\n

\u694a\u67f3 Yang Liu (Chinese), \u00a0born in 1991, choreographer, body explorer, who graduated from Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, MFA in dance. Recently she is exploring body sense and present exploration, seeking the personality in body and sensational instinct.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u90ed\u76c8\u79c0 Kuo Ying Hsiu (Taiwanese), born in 1985, transdisciplinary artist. She\u2019s been focused on social issues and the relation between field and identity, researching social interaction and symbolic interaction both interpersonal and between people and field. \u00a0Through observations and social experiments during the last few years, she created different works in the various field. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
