Jagannathan Sampath, aka<\/span>\u00a0Jag,\u00a0is a researcher, programmer of software and author of DIN is Noise<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>a musical instrument for Windows, Mac OS X and GNU\/Linux.<\/span>\u00a0He started out writing software for computer games and film special effects. Then, about 8 years ago, he learnt to program computers to make sounds andstarted writing DIN Is Noise, \u00a0inspired by central-Asian bowed string\u00a0instruments like the Morin Khuur<\/a>, the Kobyz<\/a>, the Erhu<\/a>, the\u00a0Kamancheh<\/a>, the Sarangi<\/a>, and the Cello.<\/p>\n

On the video below is his first\u00a0album entitled Binaural Planets. 180 mins of binaural drones placed on frequencies derived from orbital period of the planets.<\/p>\n
