On Thursday 28th of August at 22:00 ResidenceSEA will present Michaela Schweighofer\u2019s video work \u201cTHIS IS WHERE I LEAVE YOU\u201d.\u00a0Furthermore, the evening encompasses a variety of live music by four young groups from Heraklion: the psychedelic and Blues Rock of TIO TRIO, pieces of sound with words of ABE SADA, followed by NORTE and last but not least the Funk-Experimental band THE KANGOORS<\/a>\u00a0 will perform.<\/p>\n

Within her latest video work This is where I leave you<\/span>, <\/span>the Austrian artist-in-residence, Michaela Schweighofer, combines classical Greek sculptures with a range of natural and industrial materials she found in and around the studio of the ResidenceSEA. These objects function as a backdrop but at the same time constitute the main characters of her work. As the Ancient Greek column stands equal to the rest of the materials, the boundaries dissolve between nature and culture – the object becomes the performer.<\/p>\n

ResidenceSEA – Sensing your Environment through Art – is an art and science residence program for international artists to work and collaborate in Heraklion. It was founded in June 2012 by the artist Michela Pelusio in collaboration with different international and local artists based in Heraklion, including Roberta Bellante, Marietta Grammatikaki, Ri Fa, Vasilis Flouris, Lefteris Kotzampasakis, and Antje Larsen.<\/p>\n

ResidenceSEA is located on the ground floor of the old Palio Lido taverna, at the end of Kilkis street, behind the Pancretan stadium, 10 meters from the sea.<\/p>\n

The entrance is free.<\/p>\n
