THE SEA I SEE

This Saturday 26th April at 22:00 at residenceSEA in Heraklion Maria Morschitzky present her work “ The Sea I See ” an audio-visual performance and stop-motion video.

Maria Morschitzky is an international artist from Austria who experiments with shadows and drawings. This month Maria is staying at ResidenceSEA in Heraklion. During her stay at ResidenceSEA, inspired by the stormy sea, she has created a work, in which landscape, nature and people are expressed and reflected. Saturday night she will present an audiovisual performance and stop motion video entitled “The Sea I See”. For this performance Maria has collaborated with sound engineers Marietta Grammatikaki and Thomas Schenk (aka Rifa).

Maria Morschitzky was born in Linz and she now lives and works in Salzburg. She studied Arts Education at Mozarteum University in Salzburg, under Beate Terfloth in the printing and drawingprogram. She was a finalist for the Ö1 talent scholarship in 2011. Recently her works were shown at the exhibition Das Werdende Wissen, Salzburger Kunstverein 2012, at Correspondence, Galerie 5020, 2012 and JCE, Biennale Dárt Contemporain 2011-2013. Maria has exhibited at festivals and in galleries across Europe.
