Sri Yantra

1997

Sri Yantra was exhibited in the Gallery of the UAL:university of the arts London Wimbledon, UK.

Two shadows are projected on the wall by the rotating Sri Yantra suspended in the air.

The Sri Yantra ("holy instrument") is a geometry formed by nine interlocking triangles that surround and radiate out from the central point, the junction point between the physical universe and its un manifest source. These nine triangles are of various sizes and intersect with one another. In the middle is the power point, visualizing the highest, the invisible, elusive centre from which the entire figure and the cosmos expand. Four isosceles triangles with the apices upwards, representing the Masculine. Five isosceles triangles with the apices downward, symbolizing female embodiment.

Materials: recycle iron circle, copper tube, white rubber rope, two spotlight.
