H3 Visual concert at Cinestudio Live in Heraklion
Three unique instruments, matching vibrations and oscillations, will take you on an immersive sound and visual journey.
The most well-known of the three, the harp, needs no introduction – the harp is one of the oldest instruments and harps were played by cultures all over the world. The hang, on the contrary, is a very young instrument, developed in 2000 in Switzerland – it is one of the newest, rarest and most sought after instruments. The helix is an experimental opto-acoustic instrument – it was developed in 2011/12 in Crete and Austria by Michela Pelusio.
The unusual combination of these three instruments gives a unique and non-recordable sound and visual experience. The concerts of this trio are musical experiments, where the audience is taken on a meditative sound and visual journey, inspired by the Pythagoraean harmony of the spheres, harmonic oscillations, waves, and vibrations.
Martina Stock is a musician and visual artist from Austria. Michela Pelusio is visual and performance artist from Italy. Christian Schratt is a musician and graphic designer from Austria. Martina Stock and Christian Schratt have played together since 2010, under the name of Cipherence Symphony. The concerts of Ciference Symphony take place in buildings which produce a natural sound experience, like underground parking lots, factory buildings, churches and concert halls. http://www.ciference-symphony.com/
In 2012 Martina, Michela and Christian first joined in a concert of hang, helix, and harp, at the art festival Schmiede 2012 in Austria. More pictures at http://maakali.org/H3/
